The most tedious and error-prone part of MPB is installing all of the prerequisite packages. For users of Debian GNU/Linux, however, this process can be entirely automated.
Josselin Mouette has graciously volunteered to provide Debian packages of MPB. These packages are now in the official Debian:
Note that this is currently in the testing
branch of Debian, and should go into the next stable
release. Assuming you are using the correct Debian branch, you can simply do:
apt-get install mpb
as root
to install MPB and all prerequisites.
You can also apt-get install h5utils
to install the useful h5utils package.
